tweaking the space

some suggestions were made towards it to generate ideas: it could be an event; use the room or beyond; include Carlis' presentation about the 'Burning Man' Festival etc
i observed that the artists group had a short meeting and were off on their assigned tasks (its amazing how fast everyone can come up with ideas and implement them in the lab environment)
the group requested that we wear Red, Blue & Yellow in line with the theme and in memory of a New Zealand Artist that had just died
in this case the group decided to utilise the inside and outside spaces: I wasnt aware of all of the space until I was invited/present (this is how some festival goers experience the site and dont always piece it altogether - even though they have a map, discuss with others etc)
accordingly some individuals had manipulated the soundscape (another space); DJ Lauren created a playlist with a song dedicated to each person present
it is always interesting to me how manipulating a space can effect behaviour/s : for example, if the dining room wasnt a long, thin space; would Mish and company still dance on the table? : )
a ceremony was incuded in the 'line-up' : ok it was a wedding ceremony (a mainstream institition in itself, but Dario was in drag), with the only 2 singles married off... and i'm not sure if they were aware but their bedouin honeymoon suite was actually visible and left little to the imagination...
there were also some architectural interventions: like the goon boxes taped to the Queenslander housing style arches
conversational interventions: complete silence due to blissful interactions with Tom Rivards cooking; official invitations to discuss prescribed topics; games -> like spin the bottle
and some "artistic" interventions: like framed paintings inhabiting the outdoor spaces - (which worried the neighbours, more than the early hours noises)
not to mention the intervention to the long week of sitting in an alice-in-wonderland style room at the Italo Australian Club : a practical antidote to deep thrombosis!
thanks all involved - for investing good energy and good grace in the caring sharing spirit; and thanks world wide web for the space to feed this hindsight back to the blog

i think it represents our magical, mystery dinner party
P.S: unfortunately I had to re re re-edit this blog post due to dodgy internet connection (i'm sure it was better before!) aaargh!

Thanks Jenny - very interesting to hear about the dinner from the other perspective. Great insight into how other people might experience your ‘art’.
